To keep your listening preferences private, you must turn off Listening Activity on Spotify to protect your privacy.

Once you open Spotify, tap on yourprofile picture and go toSettings.
Once in options, scroll down to theSocial sectionand toggle off theShare my listening activity on Spotifyoption.

Ensure that there is no check mark next to Friend Activity.
The See What your friends are Playing option is also affected when you turn this feature on or off.
If there is a checkmark on Friend Activity, this other option is on, and vice versa.
Both options can be found in the Social section of Spotifys controls.
