This isnt the case, as Slack allows you to configure your mobile notification preferences from the desktop software.
select your profile picture in the top-right corner.
Then click View profile in the drop-down menu.
First, it’s crucial that you choose your profile picture, then choose View profile.
In your profile, tap on the triple-dot icon labeled More, then tap on Account options.
Once in your account options, switch to the Notifications tab at the top of the page.
you’re free to configure your mobile notifications in the Mobile push notifications section.
Slack defaults to send you notifications about All new messages.
But, you might change this to either Direct messages, mentions, or keywords.
Or to Nothing with the Notify me about dropdown box.
