When you create your workspace, you assign it a name and a URL.

This is obviously used to distinguish it from other workspaces.

With community and interest-based workspaces, this is not likely to have any real pressure to change over time.

For corporate workspaces, this also will generally have very little pressure to change.

Unless the company is rebranding or going through a merger or some similar process.

In this scenario, a company may want to change the name and the URL of its Slack workspace.

Many services wouldnt necessarily offer the ability to do that easily, but Slack allows you to change both.

Where possible, there arent any restrictions on changing these workspace details.

For example, you might change the name and URL of a workspace as often as you like.

The main restriction is that you obviously cant switch to a URL that is already in use.

This means that someone could take it at any time.

To get there, you first need to punch the workspace name in the top-right corner.

Click Change workspace name and URL next to Workspace name and URL in the default parameters tab.

Once youre happy with the new name and URL, click Save changes to apply the change.

Change the name and URL in the respective boxes.

Occasionally, you may want to change your workspaces name and URL, perhaps because of a rebranding effort.
