Slack: How To Change What the Enter Button Does and Stop Accidentally Sending Messages

This can be a little embarrassing or annoying.

You either have to quickly copy and delete the message to finish it before sending it again.

To help prevent this issue, Slack allows you to change how the enter key works.

To do so, select your profile picture in the top-right corner, then select Preferences.

Once in your preferences, switch to the Advanced tab.

pick the radio button labeled Start a new line (use Ctrl + Enter to send).
