Microsoft offers an option to prevent this from happening when using its Edge online window on Android.
To configure this setting, you should probably use the in-app parameters.
Tap the triple-dot icon in the bottom bar to be able to reach the options menu.
Tap the prefs icon in the top-right corner to launch the in-app prefs.
To prevent Edge from opening other apps, you better tap on Browsing options.
It will be the second to last option in the main controls list.
Tap Browsing options at the bottom of the parameters list.
In the browsing options, tap Using external apps to prevent or allow Edge to open other apps.
Tap Using external apps to get to the external apps configuration page.
Edge defaults to having permission to open other apps.
Tap Stay in Microsoft Edge to prevent Edge from launching other apps.
