No matter which web app you choose as your favorite, they each can have problems at times.

They will fill up and slow down seemingly for no reason.

Firefox is no exception.

This is my guide to speeding up Firefox in under 2 minutes.

Update Firefox

The first thing you want to do is update the surfing app to the latest iteration.

To update, youre going to open up Firefox, selectat the top-right corner, and chooseHelp.

The web client will now automatically update itself!

Select theRestart Firefoxbutton to allow the process to finish.

You now have the latest version of this awesome web client.

This has mostly been resolved, but could still occasionally cause you problems, especially on older machines.

To help this, open up your Firefox online window.

In the address bar, typeabout:memory.

You will be presented with a page that looks like the below.

If you are an advanced user, you’re able to take advantage of the reports offered here.

For the rest of us, we are simply going to click thatMinimize Memory Usagebutton.

This can significantly slow down the browsers response times, so lets clean it up.

First, click those three lines at the top-right again, but this time chooseOptions.

Click onPrivacy and Securityon the left-hand side.

Scroll down to where you seeCookies and Site Dataand choose that.

hit theClear Databutton and a new box will pop up with your options.

Place an X in both boxes and click theClear.

Now, scroll further down the page to theHistorysection.

Choose carefully which items you wish to clear in the box that comes up.

I chose to clear it all… there is nothing there that is crucial for me to keep.

when you obtain made your selections, decide the time-frame of history to clear from the drop-down box.

you might choose between 1 hour, 2 hours, 4 hours, the past day or everything.

I recommend choosingEverythingin order to maximize the speed-up process.

Youre all cleared up!

Your Firefox online window should be running much faster now.

I would start by disabling all of them.

To do this, first click those lines at the top again, then chooseAddons.

On the left, click onExtensions.

If you look at each extension you have installed, you will see three dots on the right side.

Click those dots and choseDisablenext to each one.

Once all of the extensions have been disabled, clickThemeson the left side of the page.

Be sure that theDefault Themeoption is selected.

Using any of the others can slow your web client by a few or several!
