To get started, reach the Gmail account you want to add the phone number to.
Once youre in, select thecog-wheeland go toSee all prefs.
select Accounts & Import, followed by Change password recovery options.
When you select recovery options, a new tab will open.
Right below that, youll see theRecovery Phoneoption.
Youll need to add the phone number thatll turn into your recovery phone in the next window.
tap on the Add Recovery Phone option and add your phone number.
confirm you choose the correct country.
Thats all there is to it.
The phone number you entered will now be your recovery phone number.
bring up the Gmail app and tap on the three-lined menu option, and go toSettings.
Now, choose the account you want to add the phone number to and tap onManage your Google account.
Youll get a code youll need to add, and youre good to go.
have a go at sign in to your account as you would normally.
Its just a message from Google asking if its you trying to recover the account.
Tap on Yes, Its Me.
This method is a lot easier and faster.
