The compressed file will appear beside the original.
The recently extracted file should appear in a new window in File Explorer for you to hit and open.
Remember to give your new folder a name and press enter.
To view what you have in the folder, you could open it by double-clicking it.
If it doesnt open, right-tap on the folder and choose the Extract All option.
If your folder has sub-folders you also want to compress, there are additional steps to follow.
Compressing Sub-Folders
Locate the folderyou want to compress andright-clickon it.
Click onPropertiesand ensure that youre on theGeneral tab.
ClickOK, followed byApply.
To apply the changes to everything, choose theApply changes to this folder, subfolders, and filesoption.
Click theOKbutton on the first and remaining window.
Remember toopen File Explorerby pressing theWindows + Ekeys.
When File Explorer opens,right-punch the driveyou want to compress and choose thePropertiesoption.
When the Properties window appears, check the box for theCompress this drive to save disk space.
From now on, any files you add to the drive will be compressed.
