There are several reasons why you may want to change your name on your Google account.
Maybe you legallychanged your name, or you got married and have a new surname.
At the top, youll see various tabs; verify to punch the Personal Info one.
On the next page, youll see a box with basic information about you.
Youll see info such as your name, birthday, gender, and your profile picture.
Click anywhere in the Name area.
Now, simply select your first and last name to change them.
it’s possible for you to also add a nickname as well.
To do this, go back to the Personal info tab and scroll down toChoose what others see.
In the basic info section, click o your name.
Under your real name youll see a section so you’re able to add your nickname.
choose the pencil icon and ad your nickname.
Sometimes, there are people who are more known by their nickname than by their real name.
One thing you might notice, but hopefully you wont is that the old name is still visible.
If that happens all you have to do isclear the cache for chromeand youre good to go.
you’re able to also choose how you name is displayed on Google.
punch Display name as and choose one from the available options.
Android
Its also possible tochange your nameon Google using your Android gadget.
you’re free to do this by opening the prefs app on your machine and going to Accounts.
Once youre in Accounts choose the Google account where you want to make the change.
Below where the Email is displayed, tap on the Google Account option, followed by the Personal Tab.
Just like the web version, youll see the Basic info section.
Tap onyour name and make the necessary changes.
you could also add or change your nickname.
Go back to the Personal Info tab and swipe down to the Choose what others see section.
Tap on your name and then youll see the option to add your nickname as well.
As long as youre there it’s possible for you to also choose how your name is displayed.
Youll see different options listed.
Choose an option and dont forget to tap on the blue save button at the bottom right.
