You may have files that arent that important.

If someone were to see them, that wouldnt worry you much.

But, some files are only meant for you to see.

Unless no one else uses your rig, you will need to protect those files with a password.

Even if youre not too familiar with Excel, you wont have difficulty finding the options youll need.

Once your Excel file is open, tap on the File tab at the top left.

Click onInfoand then on theProtect Workbookoption.

When you click theProtect Workbookoption, youll see a dropdown menu with different options.

see to it to press theEncrypt with Passwordoption.

When you hit this option, youll be asked to enter and re-enter a password.

The file will be marked in Yellow so the password-protected files will be easier to identify.

double-check that you have a way of remembering the password.

If you forget, you wont have access to the file anymore.

Only then will the file open.

If thats what you want to do, follow the steps.

When you click onMore Options, the Save As window will appear.

Towards the bottom, choose the dropdown menu for theTools option.

Youll see four options, one of which will be theGeneral Options.

On the next window, check the box for the options that will make the file a read-only file.

you’re gonna wanna add your new password twice.
