The command-line version of Bitwarden offers three different methods of signing in and decrypting your password vault.

One of these methods through the use of an API key.

To be able to use this, though, you gotta first find your API key.

This information is not accessible anywhere else.

Click View API key at the bottom of the tweaks tab of the web vault.

Youll then be prompted tore-input your vault master password.

Once youve done so, click View API key.

put in your vault master password, then click View API key.

Finally, youll be presented with your API key.

You will need the client_id and client_secret values to be able to sign in via the API key.

The value of the client id is unique to your account and cant be changed.

Again, you will need to put in your vault master password to verify ownership of the account.

Once youve done so, click Rotate API key.

Rotating your API key will invalidate your old API key.

Any equipment using it will need to be updated with the new API key.

You will be shown the newly generated API key straight away.
