You dont have to remember the entire name of the file youve misplaced.
By typing the first few letters, Windows will show you all the files that start with those letters.
Hopefully, your files are among the search results youre shown.
To filter your results, hit the drop-down menu to the right of the filter option.
If the file is a Word document, go to File > Open > Recent Documents.
